Do you have the Midi in, as well as Midi out connected in the back of your piano? Did you install the USB-MIDI driver and Musicsoft Downloader software (refer to the included “Accessory CD-ROM Installation Guide” included with your piano). What operating system are you on? ![]() ![]() Below is a list of Yamaha instruments that are compatible with the Musicsoft Downloader program. The Musicsoft Downloader program is a free application that can be used to transfer files to and from Yamaha's instruments through a MIDI or USB-MIDI connection. (Go to: 'Apple>about this Mac' in Top Computer Menu.) Here's where you can view your manual online: I remember with my old Casio piano I had to look in the Utilities Folder (on a Mac) and adjust something in Audio Devices (make the connection manually), the newer Casio uses one cord for Midi in and out and my piano recognized the Midi in and out immediately! Check there and see if it reads '1 in/ 1 out', as in the screenshot. Others will be along soon but check these things first:-) -- Richie Vitale-Sib 6.2 User iMac 2.66 Ghz Intel/Snow Leopard 2 GB RAM Attachment (78K)| Posted by - 30 Oct 08:55PM. Hi Richie, good of you to take the trouble to respond in such detail. >Did you install the USB-MIDI driver and Musicsoft Downloader software (refer to the included “Accessory CD-ROM Installation Guide” included with your piano). No I did not, but I did download an up-to-date driver subsequently (Version 1.2.1) >What operating system are you on? The same as yours I suppose: the latest!!!! >Check there and see if it reads '1 in/ 1 out', as in the screenshot. No, Richie there was nothing there, but the device 'The Uno interface' showed up in the MIDI window of the 'Audio Midi' Setup. Now where to go from here. BTW I really appreciate the handholding..
